What’s wrong with Shanghai authorities?
discoveryman asked:
You know that Ms. Sharon Stone wasn’t invited this year Shanghai Film festival because of her remarks on recent China’s earthquake.
Ms. Sharon Stone said that China’s earthquake was karmic payback for its handling of Tibet.
She made this remark at Cannes Film Festival last month.
I strongly believe that people have the right to make remarks on anything and everything.
Why Shanghai authorities banned her images on Christian Dior in Shanghai and didn’t invite her to film festival???
I think they are crazy and they don’t even understand the fundamentals of Democracy.
Don’t you think so?

communist governments usually fear anybody that is outspoken against their regimes. maybe they feel if the their citizens really know whats going on, they might revolt en masse
If a foreign public figure was to suggest that Hurricane Katrina, or 9./11 was karmic payback for the karmic sins of the United States’s past, you think they’d be welcome in the U.S?
I doubt it was the Shanghai city authorities who had her image banned. Dior would double-timing to distance themselves from her insensitive comments.
